Obesity and Bad Habits That Make You Fat

What Is The Meaning Of Obesity
The state of being grossly fat or overweight.

What is Obesity
Obesity is a condition where a person has accumulated so much body fat that it might have a negative effect on their health.
If a person's bodyweight is at least 20% higher than it should be, he or she is considered obese. If your Body Mass Index (BMI) is between 25 and 29.9 you are considered overweight.

Why Do People Become Obese:

  1. Consuming too many calories
  2. Leading a sedentary lifestyle
  3. Not Sleeping Enough
  4. Lower rate of smoking (smoking suppresses appetite)
  5. Medications that make patients put on weigh
  6. Obesity gene

What Is The Difference Between Overweight and Obesity
Both Overweight and Obesity imply a condition of excess weight of a person. Being overweight means having more body weight than is considered normal or healthy for one’s age or build. On the other hand, obesity is the condition of being obese, i.e., excess amount of body fat with a BMI of over 30. While an overweight person will carry excess weight, he may or may not have excess accumulation of fat.

How To Prevent Obesity
According to Stanford University we can prevent obesity but how?

-Preventing Obesity in Infants
The longer babies are breastfed, the less likely they are to become overweight as they grow older. Breastfed babies are 15 to 25 percent less likely to become overweight. For those who are breastfed for six months or longer, the likelihood is 20 to 40 percent less.

-Preventing Obesity in Children and Adolescents
Young people generally become overweight or obese because they don't get enough physical activity in combination with poor eating habits. Genetics and lifestyle also contribute to a child's weight status.

10 foods that can damage your health and body

1. Fruit Juices The fruit juices you find at the supermarket aren't always what they seem. They may have small amounts of real fruit in them, but often they are little more than water, artificial flavor and sugar. But  even if  you're drinking real fruit juice, it is still a bad idea . Fruit juice is like fruit with most of the good stuff removed. All that is left is the sugar and a few vitamins. Orange juice, for example, contains the same amount  of sugar as Coca Cola. There's no fiber in it, no chewing resistance and nothing to stop you from downing massive amounts of sugar in a short amount of time. Eating too much sugar is associated with all sorts of diseases. These include obesity, type II diabetes, cardiovascular disease and many others. It is much better to avoid fruit juices and eat real fruits instead. 2: Milk It may do a body good, but your skin? Not so much. Especially the skim variety. "Milk can be full of growth hormones and growth fac...

Know Your Teeth More (Anatomy Of Teeth)

The teeth are the hardest substances in the human body. Lower teeth are located on Mandibular bone and uppers located on Palatine bone of our body. A normal adult mouth has 32 teeth, which (except for wisdom teeth) have erupted by about age 13. Functions: Chewing, Mastication Helpers in Speech Parts (Anatomy): Enamel: The hardest, white outer part of the tooth . Enamel is mostly made of calcium- phosphate, a rock-hard mineral. Dentin: A layer underlying the enamel. It is a hard tissue that contains microscopic tubes. When the enamel is damaged, heat  or cold can enter the tooth through these paths and cause sensitivity or pain. Pulp: The softer, living inner structure of teeth. Blood  vessels and nerves run through the pulp of the teeth. Cementum: A layer of connective tissue that binds the roots of the teeth firmly to the gums and jawbone. Periodontal ligament: Tissue that helps hold the teeth tightly against the jaw. Names Of Your...
